CBC Staff
Pastor Elton Wilborne and wife, Donnie
Elton is our Shepherd and Pastor. He sings, plays the trumpet and does any other job needed but his greatest talent is being God’s biggest cheerleader and fan!
Donnie has many hats at CBC. From singing to playing the piano and teaching the nursery Sunday school class, her dedication to the church and the ministry is unmatched.
Rev. Dennis Parnell and wife Martha
Dennis is a grass roots, down to earth preacher that connects God’s word to daily life. Dennis and Martha have been a part of the CBC family for 20 years. Martha works in the nursery and always lends a hand in any way she can. Their strive to win people to the Lord is an example to everyone they meet. Nobody meets them without knowing about Jesus before it’s over. We are blessed to have them both at Charity.
Rev. Alan Parker and wife Kimberly
Alan has been a member, choir leader and Sunday School teacher for 25 years. He accepted the call to preach and paints a clear picture of the word with his expository style. Kimberly works behind the scenes in event planning, church cleaning and operating sound equipment. Together they teach children’s church and oversee music ministry.
Shelly Hayes and Belinda Hall
This dynamic duo head our Children’s Church program.
Shelly is a Preschool Itinerant teacher and 25+ year member of CBC. Her educational background more than qualifies her to set the curriculum and lesson plans for our largest kids program. Shelly also participates in our S.P.A.R.K. program to teach exceptional children. Compassionate, tender hearted, loving and Spirit filled describe Shelly to the fullest.
Belinda came to CBC in , with her she brought her CAN DO attitude. She remains calm in all situations and for sure a laugh or two. Nothing is ever a problem to her and she will take on any challenge. She encourages the kids and the members of the church. Her famous phrase “I preciate you” is heart felt and WE PRECIATE HER!!!
Mike Spivey and wife Angie
Mike is a long standing member of CBC and has been a leader in the CBC Youth for over 10 years. His passion for helping today’s youth come to a saving knowledge of Christ combined with his lovable goofball personality make him a SUPERSTAR.
Angie serves as an amazing helpmate and troop mom. She keeps Mike grounded and the kids know that they can rely on her soft sweet spirit in any situation.
Darin Spivey and wife Bre
This young couple has a fire for youth and they are adding to the excitement and energy we have at Charity.
Darin was born and raised in our church and has a heart for seeing kids succeed.
Bre is a high school Spanish teacher and uses her teaching wisdom to complete the other half of this Jesus loving duo.
Together they are making an influence on teens inside the church and on their jobs everyday!
Amy Starnes and Amanda Hill
Bold leaders of our new J.A.M. Sessions
Our Sunday night group formerly known as Grasshoppers has taken on a new name and a new approach to applying the word to every day life. J.A.M. (Jesus And Me) sessions allows the kids to talk about their day to day struggles and these amazing ladies guide them on overcoming those battles with the word.
Amy Starnes, there is no description worthy of her. If you have not had the opportunity to know this extraordinary lady, you are missing out. She is the life of the party and gets our kids on fire for their church. She opens her heart to our youth and allows them to feel open to share their personal thoughts. We are blessed that she made our church, her home.
Amanda has a genuine love for kids. It doesn’t matter if she is at church, work or home, she is always the first to jump in and take care of kids, young and old. Amanda has had an influence on the Christian walk of children through her stead fast personal walk with Christ. The pastor’s grandchildren pray aloud anywhere, in front of anyone because of her example. It is heard in their words that they heard her pray, not the words that she taught. Amanda also teaches the Junior Sunday School
Joe and Carrie Blackburn
Joe and Carrie wear quite a few hats at CBC but their main focus is the Wednesday Night S.P.A.R.K program. They felt a calling to start a merit based program to get kids interested in learning more about their Bibles and how to apply that to situations relevant to them. This class earns vest patches monthly based on attendance, participation and so much more.
Carrie has a lifelong devotion to Charity Baptist and daily strives to promote her love not only for God but her church as well. She has grown up in this church and has been taught in every class from Nursery to Youth. That knowledge gives her the ability to shape these young minds into strong Christians. Carrie willingly obeyed when God pressed on her heart the idea of this group and she saw this to fruition.
Joe jumped head first in the deep end when he came to Charity. His genuine love for kids and non-stop energy is just what this wild group needed. He is the right hand Carrie needed and he brings the SPARK to this class. The Spirit is displayed in his
